The BARE ARTIST COLLECTION is a testament to self-expression that speaks to the artist in us all. An adventure in product design and creativity. Each brush stroke tells a story, each color palette carries an emotion. A unique, visceral experience, the BARE ARTIST COLLECTION provides an unrestricted glimpse into the Artists soul.
The BARE ARTIST COLLECTION is an extension of the artist – a wearable piece of original (One of a Kind) ART. A unique expression of creativity, matched with the alignment of function, form and design. Like all great ART, the final outcome cannot be defined. The discovery takes place in the process.
Each ARTIST has differences in experience, style, and teaching. Each ARTIST has a different vision. They create with different strokes and tap different sources for inspiration. Each uses a DIFFERENT process to create.
Similarities make us feel comfortable, understood, and safe. It’s the differences that we learn from, that help us evolve, and make us wonder. But most of all, these differences make us UNIQUE.

The Philosophy
The limited edition ARTIST COLLECTION is BARE’s most inspired creation to date. The line was produced with a vision to bring sustainable fashion, artwork, and innovative product design together like never before. The BARE Artist Collection is a passion fueled, collaborative project that challenges traditional notions of fashion design.
The Materials
Weatherproof, durable, and underutilized, BARE carefully chose to feature repurposed vinyl billboards as the main material for the BARE ARTIST COLLECTION. We hand select these billboards from a local repurposed material center in Denver, Colorado. We then clean and prep the billboards for use as an Artist Canvas. They could have just ended up in a landfill, but we found it more inspiring to make one-of-a-kind pieces of wearable art with them instead.

The Process

Choosing the Material:
Weatherproof, durable, and underutilized, BARE chose to feature repurposed vinyl billboards as the main material for the BARE ARTIST COLLECTION. We hand select these billboards from a local repurposed material center in Denver, Colorado, and then clean and prep the billboards for use as an Artist Canvas.

Choosing the Artists:
BARE Creative Director Grason Ratowsky hand selected two upcoming talents in the ART world to join him in painting the large, 20’ by 40’ vinyl canvasses. Once we convinced them to join in this aspirational mission we flew each artist to Colorado tomeet the BARE team and complete a handful of the massive, contemporary abstract pieces on the selected vinyl. The strikingly brilliant final pieces are then sprayed with an ultraviolet fixative to protect the paint and artwork before we send them to our manufacturers.

The Manufacturing:
The prepped vinyl art canvas is then sent to our manufacturer where it is patterned, cut and sewn before it becomes a one of a kind item from the limited BARE ARTIST COLLECTION. We paired the repurposed vinyl with the highest quality leather strapping, solid hardware, and felt lined straps and pocket interiors to create a striking piece of wearable art that matches self-expression with quality craftsmanship and innovative design. By pushing the boundary of traditional design we’ve produced an unmatched collection of one of a kind, art driven, sustainable fashion bags.
